Oh, dear... This will not go well...

Beautiful lighting on this page. I love the purple-tinged tarry bubbles.

Thanks, I was particularly satisfied with how the bubbles turned out. It was a great opportunity for me to experiment a bit with techniques I don't use that often.

The look I was aiming for here is for the liquid to have an "ultraviolet" color. Because human eyes cannot see UV wavelengths, the fluid appears black, though like a blacklight it also gives off a small amount of visible violet light. I'm not entirely sure my depiction here is scientifically-valid, though, so make of that what you will.

Free will is over rated. You were destined to do it. Do it!
I like the upshot through the liquid in that last panel.

Every crappy choice he made in his life has led him down this path, a path that ends with him trapped in a dark room with a shady drug dealer and his goon who will probably do something very bad to him, one way or another.

The last panel was actually not an upshot, but a downshot. Karro's face is reflected in the liquid, hence why the burns are on the wrong side of his face.

It does look awesome with the dark purple coloring effects, so even if he wasn't a craven bully, I could see why he'd drink up and give up free will.

It's the new soft drink sensation that swept up the nation! Looks like grape soda, tastes like death.

That second to last panel is great. It's a very straightforward face shot, like fate is looking straight at him -- and he doesn't comprehend.

Or maybe, on the most primordial level, he comprehends exactly.
